Telebridge Teleconferencing Features
Advanced Telebridge Features
The primary benefit of the Advanced Telebridge is that it provides support for VoIP callers (e.g. Skype or Vonage).
How to Dial In
Call the dial-in number at the scheduled time. When prompted, enter either the Host or Guest PIN, followed by the pound sign. The system will repeat the number entered and ask for confirmation that the number is correct. If the number entered was correct, type the 1 key.
If Guests enter before the Host, they will hear music on hold until the Host joins the call. During the conference, participants may hear chimes when someone joins or leaves the call. These chimes can be turned off using either the Keypad Commands as described below.
About the Keypad Commands
| Advanced Telebridge | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Feature | Key | Who May Use | Description |
| Count | *2 | Host | Announces # of participants on call. |
| Lecture | *5 | Host | Mutes/unmutes guests but not host. |
| Self Mute | *6 | Guest | Mutes/unmutes individual guest. |
| Record | *9 | Host | Begins and ends recording. |
Most Telebridge commands can be toggled on and of; that is, you press the command once to turn the feature on, and again to turn it off. For example, a guest may self mute by pressing *6 (star then 6), then unmute by pressing *6 again.
Please note that, unless the call is already in lecture mode, pressing any number on your touchtone keypad will create audible beeps for other callers. If your phone has a mute button and volume control, use these instead of your keypad.
When the Host uses Keypad Commands, he or she will leave the "call space" while listening to the automated system. During this time, Guests will hear music.
Count - Pressing *2 (star then 2) will provide the Host with the number of participants on the call.
Lecture - When the host presses *5 (star then 5), the teleconference will be placed in "lecture mode." This means that only the host(s) can be heard. When the host is ready for guest comments or questions, he or she can press *5 again to end lecture mode. This is a useful strategy for reducing background noise coming from guests on the call.
Self Mute - Guests may press *6 (star then 6) to mute themselves, and *6 again to unmute themselves. Please note that, unless the call is in lecture mode, *6 will create an audible beep for other callers. If your phone has a mute button, use this first.
